Yes. Université de Sherbrooke’s Doctor of Medicine (MD) requires Casper in French for fall 2027 entry. Casper counts for 30% of the score that decides who is invited to the virtual multiple mini-interviews (MEM-V), with the academic score at 70%. On the final list for fall 2027, the MEM-V now carries 70% and the academic score 30%, so the interview decides most of the outcome.
Does Sherbrooke medicine require CASPer?
Yes. Sherbrooke accepts only Canada Casper 2 in French (test code CSP-20200F), and results are valid for the current admission cycle only. For the 1 March 2027 application deadline, the last Casper sitting is 18 February 2027. Only applicants eligible solely for the First Nations and Inuit contingent are exempt. Duet and Snapshot are not mentioned. Compare how Université Laval medicine uses Casper.
What is the Sherbrooke medicine MEM-V format?
Sherbrooke’s interview is a synchronous virtual MEM (MEM-V), in French only, held on 19, 20 and 27 April 2027 (Sherbrooke virtual site) and 20 April 2027 (Moncton virtual site, for New Brunswick and Atlantic applicants). Sherbrooke’s evaluator page describes stations of 7 minutes on Zoom, with 10 station scores combined into the result. Compare the MEM at Université de Montréal medicine. If the format is new to you, start with what an MMI is.
How does Sherbrooke select medicine applicants?
For the collegial and university categories, MEM-V invitation is 70% academic score and 30% Casper. For fall 2027 the MEM-V weight on the final list rises from 60% to 70%, so the final list is 30% academic score and 70% MEM-V, for every contingent except the international, international medical graduate, and First Nations and Inuit contingents. Applicants must show French at C1 or higher (the average of the four skills), unless exempt, and prove Quebec residency where required. University applicants apply by 1 November. To compare another Quebec medical school, see McGill medicine.
What does Sherbrooke not publish about medicine admissions?
- Casper cutoff scores.
- Full candidate-side station detail for the 2027 MEM-V, which Sherbrooke publishes in fall 2026.
How do you prepare for the Sherbrooke MEM-V?
An MMI rewards fast reading, a clear decision and a follow-through in every station, and a virtual MMI adds camera and connection discipline. Arvin Ardakani, a final-year medical student who founded ExperienceMED, runs timed stations with applicants and marks each one on six skills: task focus, reasoning, perspective, communication, action and adaptability (what he looks for when marking). Practise out loud, against a clock, and retry with one correction at a time.
To have your answers marked by Arvin, try the free CASPer mock, the free MMI assessment or see the programs.
