Does Montréal medicine require CASPer?
Yes. Montréal requires Casper and states it can be eliminatory. Its Casper page lists both a French and an English version for MD applicants. For fall 2027 entry, the French test must be taken by 5 November 2026 (university and out-of-Quebec applicants) or 2 March 2027 (CEGEP applicants); the English test by 5 November 2026 or 18 February 2027. International medical graduates must take the French version. Duet and Snapshot are not mentioned.
What is the Montréal medicine MEM format?
The MEM (mini-entrevues multiples) are run through an interfaculty committee shared with Université Laval, in French and in person, on a Saturday or Sunday in April. The joint 2026 candidate guide describes 10 stations of 7 minutes, with 2-minute breaks. About three candidates are called per available place. Laval medicine uses the same MEM, while Sherbrooke medicine runs its own virtual MEM-V and McGill medicine interviews in English or French.
How does Montréal medicine select applicants?
Under the latest published rules (fall 2026 intake), invitation to the MEM is 60% academic score and 40% Casper for college and university applicants, after a first cut at a CRC or CRA of 33,000. Research doctorate holders are weighted 50% research file and 50% Casper, and international medical graduates 30% Casper and 70% MCCQE Part I. Final selection is based on the MEM. Canadian citizens and permanent residents must be Quebec residents at the application deadline, apart from small dedicated quotas such as three places for the Maritime provinces.

How should you prepare for the Montréal MEM?
An MMI rewards fast reading, a clear decision and a follow-through in every station. Arvin Ardakani runs timed stations with applicants and marks each one on six skills: task focus, reasoning, perspective, communication, action and adaptability, explained in what he looks for when marking an answer. Practise out loud, against a clock, and retry with one correction at a time, starting with these MMI practice questions with answers.
