UBC dentistry does not list Casper for fall 2027 entry; it uses the DAT and a mandatory in-person interview, held on 17 and 19 February 2027, so preparation has to cover more than one interview format.
Does UBC dentistry require CASPer?
Casper, Duet and Snapshot are not mentioned on UBC’s DMD admission pages or in the UBC Calendar’s DMD admission section. The DAT is required. UBC states the manual dexterity component of the Canadian DAT and the quantitative reasoning component of the American DAT are not required. Next door, Alberta dentistry does require Casper; see also Saskatchewan dentistry and the full list of which Canadian dental schools require CASPer.
What is the UBC dentistry interview format?
UBC states the interview is in person and mandatory, and that interviewers are unaware of the applicant’s file. Interview teams are general practitioners and faculty members. UBC’s selection statement refers to individual interviews and group interviews, and the UBC Calendar also lists a problem-based learning (PBL) assessment, but UBC does not call any of these an MMI or a panel.
When are UBC dentistry interviews for fall 2027 entry?
UBC lists interviews for the DMD Class of 2031 on Wednesday 17 February and Friday 19 February 2027. Applications closed on 10 October 2026.
How does UBC dentistry select applicants?
UBC does not publish weights. Its selection statement names individual interviews, group interviews and a global assessment of the application and the applicant’s fit to the program, and the UBC Calendar adds aptitude tests. About 90% of domestic seats go to in-province applicants.
What does UBC dentistry not publish?
- The interview format (MMI, panel or other).
- Any weighting of the DAT, academics or interview.
Every fact on this page comes from UBC’s own admissions pages, listed under Sources with the date each was checked.
How do you prepare for the UBC dentistry interview?
A panel or structured interview is a conversation, so it rewards real stories, a clear reason for the profession and calm answers to follow-up questions. Arvin Ardakani, a final-year medical student who founded ExperienceMED, coaches applicants on the personal stories behind their answers and runs mock interviews with follow-ups. See panel interview vs MMI and how to answer “tell me about yourself”.
To have your answers marked by Arvin, try the free MMI assessment or see the programs.
