Queen’s University invites applicants who successfully submit an application to its MD program to complete the early-phase MMI on the Acuity Insights platform. Acuity states Queen’s accepts only the English early-phase MMI, and that Queen’s applicants must also take Casper.
What do you do and when?
Each cycle, you are contacted in early October, shortly after the OMSAS deadline, with instructions to schedule. The format is the same as for Ottawa: about 1 hour and 15 minutes, 8 stations with a rest station in the middle. See How long is the early-phase MMI? and Early-phase MMI dates.
Casper and the early-phase MMI together
Because Queen’s applicants take both, you are recording on camera twice in a cycle. Arvin Ardakani teaches the same discipline for both: structure, specifics and a calm eye line. The formats differ, though, and Early-phase MMI vs Casper video responses sets out how.
What happens after the early-phase MMI?
Queen’s sets out its methods of selection on its admissions pages, and they can change between cycles. For the Queen’s interview stage, see Queen’s medicine interview preparation.
The early-phase MMI for 2027 entry ran on 16, 18 and 19 October 2026, and Acuity has not posted dates for the next cycle. At Ottawa, interview invitations come from a rank-order list built from CGPA, early-phase MMI score and Autobiographical Sketch score, and interviews are typically held between February and March: a semi-structured panel interview of about 40 minutes. For that stage, read the Ottawa medicine interview format and see the Interview program. Applying next cycle? Everything on this page still applies: applicants are contacted in early October, shortly after the OMSAS deadline.
