Yes, University of Manitoba medicine requires the English Casper test for fall 2027 entry, and Manitoba is one of the few schools that publishes exactly how much Casper counts: 30% of interview selection and 10% of the final ranking.
Does Manitoba medicine require CASPer?
Yes. Manitoba requires the English Casper test only, for every applicant pool, and states that Snapshot and other Acuity tools are not admission requirements. In the Manitoba and Out-of-Province pools, applicants scoring more than 1.5 standard deviations below their pool’s mean are screened out. Casper is not used to select within the Canadian Indigenous pool, but those applicants still write it because they are also considered in the general pools. How do you prepare for the Manitoba CASPer and MMI?
Casper decides who gets an interview here, so prepare for it first. An MMI then rewards fast reading, a clear decision and a follow-through in every station. Arvin Ardakani runs timed stations with applicants and marks each one on the same six skills: task focus, reasoning, perspective, communication, action and adaptability. Practise out loud, against a clock, and retry with one correction at a time. See how to prepare for CASPer and MMI practice questions with answers.
