The University of Calgary MD program does not require Casper for fall 2027 entry. Its interview is in person and mixes formats, including a Multiple Mini-Interview, and the file is scored on many attributes before interviews.

Does Calgary medicine require CASPer?

No. Calgary’s 2026-2027 Applicant Manual does not mention Casper, Duet or Snapshot, and the AFMC admissions guide for 2027 entry lists Casper as not required for Calgary. For the other Alberta school, see Alberta medicine.

What is the Calgary medicine interview format?

Calgary interviews are in person and use a variety of formats, including the Multiple Mini-Interview. Calgary states the number and type of stations vary from year to year, and its MMI information page says a recent cycle used eight MMI interviews. Applicants to the Southern Alberta Medical Program also have an additional panel interview; see panel interview vs MMI. Tentative interview dates for fall 2027 entry are 27 and 28 February and 13 and 14 March 2027.

How does Calgary medicine weight the application?

Calgary scores the file before interviews: GPA 20%, MCAT CARS 10%, global academic merit 10%, curiosity and research 10%, and five further attributes at 10% each. Calgary publishes the interview’s weight in the final ranking as a formula image in section 7.2 of the Applicant Manual.
